Stakeholder perspectives and preferences on the implementation of pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing for the treatment of depression in primary care in Ontario, Canada
The objective of this research is to examine the perspectives and preferences of stakeholders including patients, clinicians, and policy makers about the implementation of PGx testing for the treatment of depression in primary care to inform health policy and funding decision making in this space. The expected outcomes of this work include: a comprehensive catalogue of available PGx tests for antidepressants available to primary care providers and patients seeking depression treatment in the primary care setting; an understanding of the ethical and social implications of PGx testing stakeholders are most concerned with; and an understanding of both stated and actual preferences to inform PGx testing policy development that is aligned with the values of those who would be most affected by it.
