Douglas Sipp received a bachelors degree from Rutgers University. From 2009 to 2014, he led the research unit on science policy and ethics at the Riken Center for Developmental Biology in Kobe, Japan, and is currently research specialist at the same institute, and adjunct professor at Keio University School of Medicine. Doug's research focus is on policy and ethics developments relating to stem cells and international efforts to develop regenerative medicine. His chief interests are in direct-to-consumer marketing of unproven stem cell interventions, and de-regulatory pressures in the context of national stem cell R&D initiatives.
