Strengthening International Evidence on Health Inequality Aversion

Addressing health equity and social justice implications are a key priority in the policy agenda across the globe. While some methods are developed, the process currently in place provides insufficient details in regard to how equity is factored into the health decision-making process. The purpose of the workshop is to advance the field from its technical development phase to the stage of practical implementation in the real world by brindging the gap between research and evidence-informed policy-making.
We will be bringing together world-renowned experts in the field of ethics, economics, and new medical development assessment policy to develop practical solutions and an action plan. Such a forum is critical in order for the available methods to be accepted and taken up across different settings. Our goal is to provide practical guidance for new medical developments assessment analysts and policymakers through the publication of an article and a policy brief. These guidance products will assist analysts in presenting decision makers with the necessary evidence to promote health equity while aiming to maximize health outcomes under resource constraints. At the same time, it will allow policymakers to communicate to the analysts what is needed to trust and implement these methods.
Our broader objective is to contribute to the advancement of the tools used in new medical developments assessment fields to address equity implementation more effectively. By doing so, we hope to facilitate fairer decision-making and better health outcomes for all individuals worldwide.
