Ce lieu est donc nécessaire pour préparer la matière intellectuelle qui sera ensuite transférée aux citoyens afin que ceux- ci puissent se prononcer quant à la légitimité de ces innovations.

Defining, Using and Promoting History as a Health Discipline

This is a request for funding to hold a 3-day workshop at the Fondation Brocher in October 2025 devoted to the therapeutic, i.e preventive and curative, functions and uses of the historical discipline.


The proposed workshop will bring together 12 local and foreign (both European and Canadian) medical historians who will reflect together, in a dialogical mode, on the functions and uses of History in the improvement of human health in order to establish collectively: 1. guidelines (conceptual and practical), 2. the main issues (including methodological and ethical as well as pedagogical) and 3. the means of expression of history as a genuine medical and health discipline or “History as Health”.
