Disclosure of genetic information and the bioethics anthology
The objectives and the related outcomes are as follows: A. To analyse the qualitative material from the incidental findings disclosure study and provide a first draft for colleagues to comment. We aim to publish versions of the article both in English (in a peer-reviewed international journal) as well as in Estonian (in “Eesti Arst”, a peer-reviewed medical journal in Estonian). The study is likely to be one of the first providing qualitative material regarding incidental findings disclosure practices by doctors and researchers. B. To write the first draft of the introduction to the bioethics anthology. The bioethics anthology is likely to be published end of 2015/beginning of 2016. I would therefore have the luxury of letting the draft settle for a while and then come back to it at the end of the year with improvements. The anthology will be approx. 400 pages, published by Tartu University Press and it will be the first academic overview of bioethics as a field in Estonian language. C. To liaise with the appropriate international organisations based in Geneva with the expectation of creating linkages and synergies for the COST Action on Disaster Bioethics. Currently work is ongoing on the foreign medical teams standards and we are compiling training materials for disaster relief workers.
