Beyond IRB: Revisit Ethical Review and an Institutional Ethical Governance Proposal in Chinese Context

• Review regulatory framework on ethical review in China comprehensively to identify possible gaps for further updates or specifications;
• Investigate and bring in more ethical values, for example, solidarity, reciprocity, transparency, accountability, from the perspective of human subject protection to update current ethical review framework in China;
• Reconstruct the theoretical framework of ethical review from Chinese perspective
• Develop a tailored Institutional Ethical Governance Proposal based on Chinese context
