A Gender-Responsive Approach to Building Capacity in Global Health Security
My project proposes integrating gender equality objectives into existing metrics and tools used to measure progress of global health security programs. A good example is capacity building and workforce development, including training field epidemiologists around the world who build global surveillance and response capacity. Capturing women’s participation in and contribution to these types of capacity building programs is vital for advancing gender equity in the global health workforce.
