TECHNOLOGIES OF SELF-IMPROVEMENT: POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY AND IDEALS OF HEALTH
During our proposed two month stay at the Brocher Foundation, our primary objective is to engage in lengthy and focused discussion about the connections between our work on positive psychology and the place of this work in the growing field of psychiatric ethics. Our chief goal is to investigate the current social conditions that support the widespread use of formal and informal psychiatric health care by marginalized populations, and the effects of the use of positive psychology on these communities. As new scholars, we rarely have the opportunity to take time away from other responsibilities to engage in scholarly discussions that would further our work. During our stay at Brocher, we will further our individual agendas through publication and have the time required to develop a well-situated and innovative collaborative research plan.
