Yves Flückiger is a professor of economics at the Faculty of Economics and Management and currently holds the position of Vice-Rector.
After training in economics and sociology at the University of Geneva, where he obtained a doctorate in 1983, he was a research associate at Harvard and Oxford Universities. In 1993, he was appointed full professor in the Department of Economics at the UNIGE, then vice-rector in 2007.
Director of the Observatoire universitaire de l'emploi, he has served on numerous federal commissions, in particular the Competition Commission, of which he was vice-president from 2003 to 2007, and the National Research Council of the Swiss National Science Foundation, between 1998 and March 2008.

Patrick Odier is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Lombard Odier Group. Since June 2021, he has been Chairman of Swiss Sustainable Finance. He also chairs Building Bridges, an initiative to promote sustainable finance in Switzerland and worldwide.

Former President of the State Council, David Hiler is a historian and economist. He was a lecturer at the University of Geneva and is the author of numerous publications on the history of Geneva. He was a member of the Grand Council from 1993 to 2005 and then State Councillor in charge of the Department of Finance from 2005 to 2013. He is a lecturer at the HEG Geneva and a member of several foundation boards of cultural and social institutions.

Journalist, presenter and producer in charge of the health news magazine 36.9° on RTS1 since its creation in 2006, Isabelle Moncada offers reports and investigations in the field of health and medicine. She is also a regular contributor to the science and medicine program of RTS-la Première. Previously, she was in charge of the consumer information program A Bon Entendeur where she created the "health" section.
Her interests in the scientific field are nutrition, food and the effects of agricultural policies on the health of populations, the impact of environmental changes on health, prevention, public health policies, social insurance systems. Biomedical ethics, transhumanism, human enhancement, human-machine hybridization, as well as the challenges of data collection and big data.

After training as a civil engineer at the University of Liege in Belgium and the University of Bristol in the UK, Frederic Herman moved to Canberra to do a PhD with Prof. Jean Braun at the Australian National University. During his PhD, he started working on the interactions between climate, erosion and tectonics.
After a post-doctoral fellowship at the California Institute of Technology, where he worked mainly on tectonic and erosional processes in central Nepal, he joined the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich in 2007. As a lecturer, he has the chance to work with several master students, PhD students and postdocs during 5 years and to develop a research program on the interactions between climate and land surface processes.
At the end of 2012, he comes to the University of Lausanne to build up a research group at the Institute of Land Surface Dynamics, first as a Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique grant professor and then as an associate professor. He is promoted to full professor as of August 1, 2019.

After studying law at the University of Neuchâtel, Audrey Leuba qualified as a barrister and went on to complete a Master's degree (LL.M) at Harvard Law School (USA) with a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). In 1994, she passed the New York State Bar Exam. She is the author of a doctoral thesis on the division of tasks between spouses in light of the principle of equality between men and women. Initially an adjunct lecturer and then a lecturer at the Universities of Neuchâtel and Geneva (DEA Gender Studies), Audrey Leuba became an associate professor at Neuchâtel with an SNSF grant which she devoted to research on the situation of the elderly in nursing homes. In 2006, she was appointed full professor at the University of Geneva where she teaches family law, estate planning, and adult protection.

Audrey Leuba has served on various Swiss and cantonal bodies. She notably chaired the Swiss Society of Jurists. She has also been a member of the Federal Extra-parliamentary Coordination Commission for Family Matters (COFF), a member of several expert commissions established by the Federal Office of Justice, a member of the Higher Judiciary Council of the Canton of Geneva, a member of the Board of Trustees of Pro Senectute Switzerland, a member of the management board of the Institute of Health Law (UniNE), and a member of the Central Ethics Commission of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (ASSM).

Deeply involved in the life of the Faculty of Law at the University of Geneva, as well as that of the institution itself, she has chaired numerous faculty committees, sat on the Dean's Office and headed the Civil Law Department before becoming Dean of the Faculty in 2022.

Born in Geneva on August 12, 1946, Jean-Dominique Vassalli obtained his federal medical degree from the University of Geneva in 1972, his doctorate in science (PhD) from Rockefeller University in 1977 and his doctorate in medicine from the University of Geneva in 1984. In 1991, Jean-Dominique Vassalli was appointed Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, a position he held until 1999. He was then appointed vice-rector of the University of Geneva. He held this position until 2003. He was in charge of the files relating to the Vaud-Geneva collaboration and the valorization of scientific discoveries. From 2004 to July 14, 2007, he chaired the Section of Fundamental Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine.

Director of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva

This Harvard sociology PhD and dean of the School of Management and Innovation at Sciences Po Paris became director of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in September 2020. Prior to joining the Institute, she was dean of the School of Management and Innovation at Sciences Po Paris, a school she launched in 2016. Prior to that, she was a professor at ESSEC Business School, where she was also, in turn, dean of the faculty and associate dean of the doctoral program.

Professor Anna Fontcuberta i Morral will assume the position of President of EPFL on January 1, 2025. She is a full professor of materials science and engineering and of physics, and heads the Semiconductor Materials Laboratory. Prior to her appointment, she was Associate Vice-President for Centers and Platforms from 2021 to September 30, 2024.

She graduated in physics from the University of Barcelona (Spain) in 1997
and has since accumulated an impressive series of professional achievements. In
2001, she obtained a PhD in materials science from the École Polytechnique de
Palaiseau (France). She was a postdoc and visiting researcher at the California Institute of
Technology (Caltech) with Professor Harry Atwater, with whom she co-founded Aonex
Technologies. Before moving to Switzerland and joining EPFL in 2008, she worked as a team leader at the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne (EPFL).

In 2015, she became a research advisor to the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). From
2020 to 2024, Anna was President of the Research Council of the Swiss

President, a foundation whose aim is to support female students in
achieve their professional goals.

Arnaud Perrier, born on May 19, 1959, studied Medicine in the Geneva University Faculty of Medicine in Switzerland, from which he graduated in 1982.
After 2 years of basic research in renal physiology, he trained in internal medicine and in pulmonology in the Geneva University Hospital. He returned to a full time position in internal medicine in 1994 and was head of the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Geneva University Hospital (HUG) from 2004 to 2016, and chief of the Department of Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation and Geriatrics from 2011 to 2014. He was medical director of the HUG between 2015 and 2024. His main research interests covered the field of venous thromboembolism, with the perspective of developing validated diagnostic and cost-effective diagnostic strategies. His interests encompass medical education and he participated actively to the development and implementation of the new pregraduate curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva. Freshly retired, Arnaud Perrier is now president of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences and of the Private Foundation of the Geneva University Hospital.
